SIEVE

Deferred, and not ug's. QNTX owns it. The words are here so the shape survives until something is built to hold it.

Said in passing mid-turn, so unquoted: an event stays about fourteen seconds, longer when urgent. CI in general, being very low on context, and gh being down were named alongside the rest as things that happen. And QNTX owning this was the answer to the sieve being the same move as ritual_position.

The deploy marker

"i still see signal in the verion nr's changing though"

"i always felt that this one went away too fast"

What the second line is for

"i wish the second line showed me web ui changing"

"like missing meta ads payments"

"so, not just qntx"

"but missing meta payments need to also be in ug because its business critical"

CRIER

"CRIER is involved with this"

"the thing CRIER really is, is python scripts on ON qntx,"

"and these scripts there called handlers, and a function can have a decorator that makes it be scheduled or it can watch on creation of data from other handlers"

"yes, almost the 007 runs between 003 and 004, common mistake, i know, i have tripped over it"

What deserves to be said

"i want to know if handlers are failing, i want to know if they work as well, but i want to especially know if they dont , i care about newly stoked handlers the most and their result, i care less about that later and even less if it doesnt return errors and works for awhile, in that case i care very little to nothing about it, unless it goes wrong. i also care about things that run infrequently and together, but if that has happened before i care a lot less of their results, i care more that it happened, for infrequent ones it remains interesting to me,"

"when something fails frequently i care less about seeing its results but i do care about it earlier in its development, especially in the first hour it gets stoked"

"i want to consider a handler failing a very serious event, i dont expect to be in a situation where they arent failing, a failing handler is a fix now kind of event"

How, and whose

"why not take the transparent sieve approach again"

"make it not ug problem"

"defer the whole thing"

The two modes

"sieve, it receives actionable data directly for me to copy into claude and be decisive on. it's a changing opportunistic selection over time driven by informed observer, and i do the selecting."

"Everything is down, the goal is to get QNTX up and running again by whatever means"

How long a thing stays

"drop the marquee, not doing it"

"some visual marker needs to exist to indicate how long a piece of information remains to be on screen, but its not a number."

"Silence conditionally, in the sense, it can be expected because of a rolling update, but just seeing how long it has been is already signal"

"i do think that what i want to have is, a ritual to kick off automatically after an hour"

The carousel

Built, unlike the rest of this file. The row is one line and holds more than one line's worth, so one slot between the two pinned halves takes turns.

"carousel, user, tagged version commit hah, uptime, ats version, cpu, memory, total watchers, total attestations, total schedules, total handlers"

The user is pinned leftmost and the plugins are pinned right; those never rotate. The node advances the slot, not the caller, so every surface drawing the row is on the same frame.

"and it goes fast on the first three times"

"and gets slower and slower until its 5m per carousel item"

Three sweeps of the whole set at two seconds a frame, which is how the set becomes known; then doubling until it rests at five minutes, which is how it stops being noise. A node nobody looked at for an hour advances once — what is owed is a fresh frame, not a replay of the ones that went unseen.
